What to Expect

Immerse yourself in the hands-on art of pottery making at Studio 71, our dedicated pottery space in Milton Keynes. In our 1.5 or 2-hour sessions, you’ll explore wheel-throwing techniques and discover the satisfaction of shaping clay on the wheel, guided by our friendly and experienced tutors.

  • Classes start at £45 per person, with everything included – clay, tools, aprons, and expert instruction.
  • Want to take your creations home? For just £5 extra per piece, we’ll fire your pottery in our kiln so you can keep a beautifully finished memento of your experience.

To secure your spot, please book and pay in advance using our online system in the ‘book now’ section. Each ticket covers one person, so notify us if you’re bringing friends.

Can’t make it? Email [email protected] to reschedule or request a refund. Redeem vouchers issued after April 2023 using the code provided during booking.

Pottery making at SocialPottery involves a creative and hands-on experience where individuals can come to mold and shape own ceramic pieces. It’s a place where creativity meets relaxation, as guests work with clay to create something unique, either through hand-building or wheel-throwing.

It’s designed to accommodate all levels of experience, from beginners to more practiced potters, offering a space for learning, experimenting, and enjoying the craft of pottery. Plus, Social Pottery provides an opportunity to socialize, making it a great venue for parties and corporate events, where guests can book sessions online in advance to guarantee a spot for their pottery-making experience.

If your pottery gets damaged during glazing or firing, we’ll do our best to provide a replacement. Handmade pottery can be unpredictable, but we always strive to prevent issues. Embrace the creative journey with us!

Feel free to bring your own drinks, but note that only cans are allowed (maximum of 2 per person). However, for health and safety reasons, food and nibbles aren’t permitted in our Making Studio.

We’re pleased to announce that all our SocialPottery studios are fully accessible for wheelchair users. Our spaces are designed to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone.

  1. During daytime hours, there are no age restrictions, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
  2. At Social Pottery, our night classes are for adults and maintain an adult atmosphere where alcohol is consumed. As a result, guests must be 12 or older to attend. Guests aged 13 to 17 may attend with a guardian, and those 18 or older are welcome to join. All participants must be registered for the event.  

Yes, as long as you’re a group of 10 or more. This costs a little extra, so email us and we’ll work out the details. You might also like to check out our virtual options.

Opting to kiln-fire your pottery at our studio means your pieces will be ready to collect from 120 Kentish Town Road, NW1 9PY, three weeks post-lesson.

You have an eight-week window to collect it from the initial notice. After ten weeks, we’ll donate uncollected items (unless we hear from you) due to limited storage space.

  1. Please check individual event for food/alcohol details. Guests are expected to drink responsibly.
  2. Guests must be at least 18 to consume alcohol at our event(s). We reserve the right to request ID from any guest drinking alcohol.

Our taster throwing sessions are popular, with limited spots per class. We require full payment upon booking confirmation. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 72 hours notice.

Without sufficient notice, we can’t reschedule or refund your session, even for emergencies or illness. This policy ensures fairness to our tutors and other customers.
