WALK-IN POTTERY PAINTING

No booking? no problem.

Every Social Pottery painting studio takes walk-ins: Kentish Town, Westfield White City, Balham and Milton Keynes. Turn up, pick a piece, sit down and paint. Saturdays are the exception: they fill up, so book ahead for those. The rest of the week there is nearly always a table, like a restaurant.

HOW IT WORKS

Walk in, walk out with a plan

Come in, choose a piece from the shelves (mugs, plates, bowls, planters, from £18 in London and £15 in Milton Keynes; each studio page lists its range), pay the studio fee (£5 to £7 per person) and take a table. Paints, tools and help are included. We glaze and fire your piece and it is ready to collect in two to three weeks.

one thing to know

Pottery making is different: wheel and hand-building sessions run with a tutor from start to finish, so a walk-in halfway through would not work. Book those.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Four things worth knowing

Saturdays fill up

Our busiest day. Walk-ins are welcome, but a booking is the only guarantee of a table. Weekday evenings and Sundays are calmer.

Pick from 300+ pieces

Mugs, plates, bowls, planters and more, priced per piece. You pay for what you paint plus the studio fee.

Everything included

Paints, tools, glazing, firing and a hand from the team if you get stuck.

Collect in 2–3 weeks

We glaze and fire your piece; it is ready to collect at the studio in two to three weeks, or we can post it for a fee.

WHERE

Walk in at 4 studios

The painting studios. Studio 221 in Camden is making-only, so it is booking-only too.

WALK-IN FAQ

Before you turn up

Do I need to book for pottery painting?
No. All four painting studios take walk-ins. The exception is Saturday, when tables go fast: book ahead for those, or come on a weekday or a Sunday.
Can I walk in for a wheel or hand-building session?
Those run with a tutor from start to finish, so they are booking-only. Tasters and courses are on the pottery classes page.
What does a walk-in cost?
The same as a booked session: the piece you choose plus the studio fee. Pieces start at £18 in London and £15 in Milton Keynes; each studio page lists its range.
How long can I stay?
A session is two to two and a half hours, whether you walk in or book. Late-night and Sip & Paint sessions start at a set time, so book those.
Can I walk in with a group?
A handful of people, yes. For a bigger group or a celebration, book a table or enquire for a private one (painting from 20 guests).
no plans?

Just walk in.

Weekday evenings and Sundays are the calm ones. Saturdays, book.
