Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This policy brings together our rules for changing, cancelling and missing a booking, for gift cards, and for what happens to your pottery after your session. It applies to bookings with Social Pottery Painting Ltd (company number 10950533) at our studios and events.
Each session's booking page and your confirmation email show the notice period for that session. Where they give a specific period, that is the one that applies to your booking. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.
How to change or cancel
Use the manage booking link in your confirmation email if it has one. Otherwise contact the studio you booked with (phone numbers are on each studio page) or email hello@socialpottery.com. Please include your name, the studio and the date of your booking. The notice period is counted back from the start time of your session.
Pottery painting sessions
- A deposit or studio fee, paid when you book, reserves your seat. The piece you choose is paid for on the day. How the deposit or studio fee is applied is shown on the studio page and when you book.
- You can reschedule a painting booking once, as long as you give the notice shown on the session page, usually 24 or 48 hours before your session.
- You do not need to book to paint: our painting studios take walk-ins, subject to space.
Wheel, hand-building classes and workshops
- Cancel at least 7 days before your session for a full refund.
- You can reschedule up to the notice shown on the session page, usually 48 or 72 hours before your session.
Courses
- The cancellation and rescheduling terms for each course are shown on its booking page.
- Some course dates need a minimum number of guests to run. If one does not reach it, we will tell you by email or text before the start date and offer you a full refund or a new date.
Late cancellations and no-shows
If you cancel after the notice period for your session, or do not come, we cannot refund or reschedule the booking.
If we cancel
If we have to cancel or move a session, we will contact you as soon as we can and offer you a full refund or a new date, whichever you prefer.
Private, corporate and group events
- Corporate and private events are secured with a 50% booking fee, due no later than 15 days before the event. The booking fee is non-refundable.
- You can reschedule with at least 7 days' notice, to a new date within 3 months of the original one.
- Children's parties are confirmed with a 50% deposit, and final guest numbers are confirmed 7 days before the party.
- Any other terms for your event are set out in the quote we send you.
Studio 221 memberships, passes and class cards
Memberships, day passes and class cards at Studio 221 in Camden are sold through bsport. Each plan's terms, such as how long its hours last and how to pause or cancel it, are shown when you buy it. A Class Card's 10 hours are used within 3 months.
Gift cards
- Gift cards are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Extensions are available on request.
- Gift cards are non-refundable but freely transferable. If something has happened that makes a gift card impossible to use, please get in touch.
- If your session costs less than the card, the remaining balance stays on it for future bookings or pieces.
- Gift cards can be used towards bookings including studio fees. Some premium sessions may need a small top-up.
- Gift cards are delivered by email and can be printed at home. If you chose a future delivery date, the card is sent that morning.
Collecting your pottery
- Painted pottery is usually ready 2 to 3 weeks after your session, sometimes sooner. Pieces made from clay take around 3 to 4 weeks, because they have to dry right through before they are fired and glazed.
- Pieces are collected from the studio where you made them. Once your piece is ready, you have 30 days to collect it. Pieces not collected within 30 days are donated to charity.
- Booking a collection slot is not compulsory, but we strongly recommend it, so your piece is waiting for you when you arrive. To move a collection slot, use the manage booking link in your confirmation email, or contact the studio holding your pieces.
- We can post your pottery to most UK addresses for £10 per parcel, invoiced once you confirm the address. Ceramics are fragile, so we cannot take responsibility for breakage in transit.
Breakage and loss
We take every care with your pieces, but ceramics are fragile and a piece can occasionally break in the kiln or go astray. If it happens, tell us and we will sort it:
- Pottery you painted: we will usually offer a refund, or a voucher to come back and paint another piece.
- Pieces you made in a wheel or hand-building class: we refund the firing only. You have attended the class and had the teaching, so the class itself is not refundable.
Refunds
Refunds go back to the original payment method and take 3 to 5 days to process.
