Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Social Pottery collects when you visit socialpottery.com, book a session, buy a gift card, send us an enquiry or come to one of our studios, what we do with it, who we share it with and the rights you have over it. It is written for the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
Who we are
Social Pottery is run by Social Pottery Painting Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 10950533. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Social Pottery Painting Ltd.
For anything about your personal data, email hello@socialpottery.com. You can also call or visit any of our studios and ask; the team will pass your request on.
Two of our services are run by related businesses:
- Our Balham studio is run by a franchise partner. It may handle the personal data of people who book or visit Balham for its own studio. You can still send any data request to us and we will make sure it reaches the right place.
- Studio memberships, passes and class cards at Studio 221 in Camden are sold and booked through bsport under the name Social Pottery Camden Ltd.
What we collect and when
When you book
Bookings are made in third-party booking systems that open from our website: SevenRooms for pottery painting sessions, our ticket shop at tickets.socialpottery.com (run on Pretix) for classes, courses, events and collection slots, ClassBento for some workshops, and bsport for Studio 221 memberships. When you book we receive the details you enter there, typically your name, email address, phone number, the session, date and number of guests, what you paid and any notes you add. Online payments are taken on the booking system's checkout, not on our website, and our website never receives your card details. Anything you add on the day is paid by card in the studio.
When you buy a gift card
Gift cards are sold through Gift Up. We receive the buyer's name and email address, the recipient's name and email address if you send the card to someone, any message you write, the delivery date you choose and the value and use of the card.
When you fill in a form
Our enquiry forms (celebrations and private events, corporate events, general contact and franchise enquiries), our job application form and the Studio 136 collection booking form are provided by GoHighLevel (also known as LeadConnector). We receive what you type in: usually your name, email address and phone number, plus the details of your enquiry, such as the occasion, date, studio and number of guests. A job application also includes the role and studio you are applying for and anything you tell us about yourself. The Studio 136 collection form asks for up to two photos of your piece so we can find it.
When you join our mailing list or register interest
If you join our mailing list, or register interest in a new studio such as Brent Cross, we receive your email address, which form you used and the page you were on. These go to GoHighLevel, which sends our emails.
When you email, call or message us
We keep what you send us and our replies, so we can deal with your request and keep a record of it.
When you visit a studio
We may take photographs of guests and their work at our studios and events for use in our promotions. If you would rather not appear, or would rather your work did not, tell us in writing before your session or event and we will not photograph you or it.
When you browse our website
Our website uses Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads and Vercel Web Analytics. What they collect depends on the choice you make in our cookie banner. The details are in "Analytics, advertising and cookies" below and in our Cookies Policy.
Reviews
Our website shows a selection of reviews that customers have published on our studios' Google Business profiles, with the reviewer's name as it appears on Google and the studio reviewed. If one of them is yours and you would like it removed from our website, email us and we will take it down.
Analytics, advertising and cookies
Our cookie banner lets you accept or reject analytics and advertising cookies, or choose them separately. Until you choose, both are off.
- If you accept analytics, Google Analytics sets cookies that recognise your browser across visits, so we can see how people find and use the site.
- If you accept advertising, Google Ads sets cookies that measure whether our ads lead to bookings. If you arrived from one of our Google ads, we also keep the ad's click identifier in a first-party cookie for 90 days.
- If you reject them or have not chosen yet, Google Analytics and Google Ads do not set or read their cookies. They still receive basic, cookieless signals from your visit (for example that a page was viewed or a booking button was clicked, along with technical details your browser sends, such as its type and the page address). Google uses these to estimate overall numbers without identifying you across visits.
Ad click identifiers. When you reach our website by clicking a Google ad, Google adds a click identifier to the page address (it looks like gclid, gbraid or wbraid). When you then click through to book in SevenRooms or on tickets.socialpottery.com, we pass that identifier on in the booking link so the booking can be matched to the ad that led to it. We do this whether or not you have accepted advertising cookies: without your consent the identifier is read from the page address at the moment you click to book and is never stored on your device by us. Our ticket shop keeps it with your order, and we may report the booking back to Google Ads so we can tell which ads work. We rely on our legitimate interest in knowing whether our advertising is worth paying for. The identifier says nothing about you on its own. If you object, email us and we will stop using it for your bookings, or you can remove it from the address bar before you book.
Booking and ticket pages. The SevenRooms reservation pages and our ticket shop at tickets.socialpottery.com also load our Google Tag Manager container, so a completed booking can be counted. The ticket shop shows the same cookie banner and shares your choice with our website.
Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you, so we can see how many people use the site even when they reject the banner.
Embedded content. Some pages show a Google map of our studios, which loads from Google. Our video guides load from YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode only when you press play. Booking, gift card and form windows that open on our site come from the providers named in this policy and are covered by their own privacy policies.
Why we use your data and our lawful basis

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not make decisions about you by purely automated means.
Who we share it with
We use these providers to run the business. They handle your data on our behalf and under contract, and only for the services they provide to us:
- SevenRooms: pottery painting bookings.
- Pretix: the software behind our ticket shop at tickets.socialpottery.com, which we run on our own server hosted by DigitalOcean.
- ClassBento: bookings for some workshops.
- bsport: Studio 221 memberships, passes and class cards.
- Gift Up: gift card sales and delivery.
- GoHighLevel (LeadConnector): enquiry, job application and collection forms, our mailing list and the emails we send from it.
- Google: Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Maps and YouTube.
- Vercel: hosts our website and provides Vercel Web Analytics.
- Storyblok: the content system our website is built from, which holds the reviews shown on the site.
The payment providers used by these booking and gift card systems process your payment. We may also share data with our professional advisers, with a franchise partner where your booking is at their studio, with a buyer if the business or part of it is sold, and with the police or other authorities where the law requires it.
International transfers
Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States or other countries outside the UK. Where personal data leaves the UK, we make sure it is protected by UK adequacy regulations (including the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for certified US providers) or by the safeguards approved by the Information Commissioner, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Booking, order and gift card records: as long as we need them to provide the service, deal with any questions or refunds and keep the business records the law requires, then deleted.
- Enquiries: as long as the conversation and any event that comes from it are active, then deleted unless they become part of a booking record.
- Job applications: for as long as the recruitment for that role takes, and a short time after to answer any questions about it, then deleted.
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.
- Photographs: for as long as we use them in our promotions. If you ask us to stop, we will not use them again.
- Your cookie choice is kept in your browser for 12 months; the ad click identifier cookie for 90 days. Google Analytics and Google Ads keep their data for the periods set in our accounts and in Google's policies.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data;
- ask us to restrict how we use it;
- object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests, and to stop direct marketing at any time;
- receive data you gave us in a portable format, where we use it under contract or consent;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, email hello@socialpottery.com. We may need to confirm who you are before we act. We will reply within one month, and tell you if we need longer for a complex request. There is normally no charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
Our website and online booking are meant for adults. Children's sessions and parties are booked by a parent, guardian or another adult, and we collect what we need to run the session from that adult. If you think a child has sent us personal data directly, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We limit access to personal data to the people who need it to run your booking or answer your enquiry, and we use providers that protect the data they hold for us. No system is completely secure, so please do not send us sensitive information by email unless we need it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the way we use personal data changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If a change matters to how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you.
