?Do I need any experience?
None at all. Every session at Balham is designed for complete beginners and gently guided by our team. Just turn up curious — we’ll show you everything.
?How much does it cost?
Pottery painting is a £5 studio fee to reserve your seat, then you pay for the piece you choose on the day — pieces from £18, with all paints, glazing and firing included. BYOB Sip & Paint sessions carry a £7 studio fee. Clay handbuilding and taster sessions start from £50.
?What can I do here?
Pottery painting from 300+ pieces, Sip & Paint and late-night BYOB sessions, wheel and hand-building tasters, a 6-week course, plus family and seasonal workshops.
?Can I bring my own drinks?
Yes — on Sip & Paint and late-night sessions you’re welcome to BYOB (cans only, maximum two per person). Evening sessions are adult-focused: 18+ to drink, and 13–17 year-olds may attend with a guardian. Snacks are fine for painting, but not in handbuilding sessions for health and safety.
?When can I collect my pottery?
Painted pieces are ready in 2–3 weeks; handbuilt pieces take around 3 weeks as they’re dried, fired and glazed. You then have 30 days to collect — book your slot online at the Balham collections page.
?Can you host my group or work event?
Yes — we host celebrations and team events for up to 40 guests, with bespoke packages available. Tell us the occasion through the enquiry form and we reply within 24 hours.
?Is the studio accessible?
Yes — the Balham studio is wheelchair accessible. If you have specific requirements, get in touch ahead of your visit and we’ll make sure everything’s ready for you.
?Are there age restrictions?
Daytime sessions have no age limit, though children must be accompanied by an adult. Evening BYOB sessions are adult-focused — 18+ welcome independently, 13–17 with a guardian.
